RaiseUp
A limited edition of 1,000 have been hand-signed, numbered and printed. Each book comes with two stickers designed by UpScene staff and an original screen-print done by Brandon Dunlap www.brandondunlap.com. Each screen-print is hand-signed and unique from the others as an individual, free-standing piece of work.

This fall RaiseUp will also take the form of a gallery show featuring the work shown in the book and other works by these artists. Compilation work has already begun for RaiseUp Volume 2, as our first installment is selling so rapidly!
RaiseUp is a special collection of work by international artists. This project evolved from my desire to print the work of emerging artists whose art is all too often viewed only online or in the artist’s local area. As an artist myself without a personal budget to invest, I took the idea to the artists themselves to see who might be interested in the project. Marketing online and locally (here in Tampa Bay), I discovered that many artists liked the idea of this type of collection, which is in reality a large, collaborative art project.

Because each contributing artist was required to pay for their space in the book to cover printing costs, I thought it would be fair to make this a freeform project, allowing each artist to determine which of their pieces would print with the final collection. Marketing this concept online, I asked artists of all mediums to submit work only to be judged on style. If their work was selected, the artist had the option to purchase one page or two and was required to submit payment along with the final artwork of their choosing.

Upwards of 230 artists submitted work. Approximately 80 were accepted. Out of those 80, the 27 artists featured in this collection had the dedication to follow through with our plans. As a result of their commitment, I’m proud to present this first collection of work.
